Luxurious and high-end ground floor apartment of approx. 121 m2 with a great garden facing South, in the middle of a vibrant part of Amsterdam Old South!
During the renovation of this house much attention has been paid to the details and finishing. Throughout the apartment is an oak floor and there are Maretti spotlights. Furthermore, it features a very efficient layout where both bedrooms have a private bathroom.
Entrance, you enter on the ground floor. The high ceilings (approx. 3.24 metres) and the high steel pivot doors are real eye catchers. The living area is arranged in a playful way and the sitting area has been created at the front. Because of the higher positioning, this has a wonderful cozy feeling. Additional advantage is also that you have a better view into the street.
In the middle of the living area the kitchen has been realized. The kitchen exists of a wall section and a cooking island. Of course it is equipped with all kinds of appliances such as induction hob, fridge, freezer, wine cooler and Quooker. The bar area also invites you to entertain your guests while cooking. A nice element is the brick wall between the seating area and the kitchen. This area is ideal for an intimate sitting area. The dining area is located directly on the garden and through double doors you step outside. If desired, it is also possible to place the dining area in the middle of the house.
The spacious garden of approx. 50 m2 is beautifully landscaped and enjoys a southern location. There also is a terrace area created. The fences are also equipped with lighting which is a real mood maker in the evening.
The master bedroom is located at the front of the house. This is really a separate part of the house and therefore feels like a private domain. Special is the arrangement of the washbasin, this has a hotel-like appearance. The en-suite bathroom is also reminiscent of a kind of private spa where you can retreat after a busy day.
The second bedroom is located at the rear of the house and has its own bathroom with walk-in shower and washbasin. In the hall there is a separate toilet and a special closet for your washer and dryer.
Close by to the house is the newly built second British School of Amsterdam, within walking distance of the Vondelpark and close to the shops and cozy restaurants, cafes and specialty shops of the Cornelis Schuytstraat, the P.C. Hooftstraat, the Amstelveenseweg, and the popular Beethovenstraat.
Cafe-Restaurant George, the chocolate shop Arti-choc, two specialty wine shops, the vegetable specialty shop, a bookshop and a bakery are within a very short walking distance of the house.
Several primary and secondary schools are located in the immediate vicinity of the house and cultural entertainment venues such as the new de la Mar theater, Paradiso, the Concertgebouw, the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk Museum are less than ten minutes from the house by bike. The Vondelpark is literally across the street.
The highways are quick and easy to reach by car, public transport is well regulated by tram line 2, as well as several bus lines that stop a short distance from the house (including Lairessestraat, Koninginneweg and the Haarlemmermeer station).
The street was named in 1888 after Queen Emma, the second wife of King William III, who, just before William’s death in 1890, took over the royal duties until 1898 as regent for their underage daughter, Wilhelmina. At that time the street was still situated in the municipality of Nieuwer-Amstel. After the annexation of this part of Nieuwer-Amstel in 1896 the street kept its name.
